The Red Maids’ Development Office was established in 2003 to support the school’s commitment to providing excellent facilities and to offering assisted places in line with the founding principles of John Whitson.

Since its beginning, the Development Office has established a comprehensive database of former pupils, parents, staff, governors and friends, all of whom have an interest in the continuing success of the school.

In the competitive world of independent education in Bristol, professional fundraising is an essential part of every school’s life.  Over the past eight years the combination of individual donations and legacies have enabled the school to offer an increased number of bursaries and scholarships; to increase the capital amount invested in the endowment; and to make a number of significant improvements to the school site - including the complete re-building of the Sixth Form Centre in 2011.
